What is it you plan to do with your wild and precious life? - Mary Oliver
Psychotherapy for Individuals |
You begin or return to therapy when support and guidance is needed to help create change. Your challenge may be a life-long issue, or something new that has presented itself. Whatever it is for you, you know that now is the time to take action.
Together we will explore in a mindful, nonjudgemental way what your current experience is. What you bring is important. I will follow your lead and guide the therapeutic process. First, I will learn more about your experience in determining how to move forward. If you are struggling with how to express yourself, or you are feeling disconnected from your emotions or physical body, I will help you make those connections. |
Rosen Method Bodywork |
Each client's therapy is as unique as they are. When we meet in our initial session, we will determine whether psychotherapy or bodywork is the modality you wish to pursue in our work together. For psychotherapy clients who would like to experience Rosen touch, I adapt the intention of the work within the traditional limits of psychotherapy.
Rosen Method is focused on the experience of gentle, caring, non-intrusive touch that is often missing in psychotherapy. This approach is about noticing, feeling and discovering who you are deep within, beneath the physical, emotional and mental layers of who you think you are. As the body relaxes and the breath deepens, often deep feelings, memories, and/or beliefs emerge from the unconscious. Rosen Method Professional Association Newsletter, Summer 2012 |

Remembering Marion After many years of therapy, half-way through grad school and one year of occasional dreams about Marion following a California Institute of Integral Studies evening Rosen lecture, I found myself at the Calistoga intensive the year we celebrated Marion’s 80th birtthday. I was on the table surrounded by a small group of people I didn’t know, with Marion’s hands on my body. Being shy at the time, a part of me wanted to hide under the sheet. Of course Marion whipped the sheet off talking about what she was seeing. I wanted to die, or at least run away. But the presence of her touch, the sound of her voice, the truth of her words, took me to a place I didn’t know I was longing for. As I write this, I feel myself there again. Marion gently said that day, “When I take my hands away, where am I going? What is it that’s still here? This place is in you!” Thank you, Marion, for helping me connect to this deep, sacred place. |
